334 Introduction to Pediatric Dentistry
4 hours. Discussion of all aspects of dentistry and their unique implemetation for the special needs of the pediatric and adolescent patient Prerequisite(s): Enrollment in the Doctor of Dental Surgery program.

335 Honors Course in Pediatric Dentistry
1 hours. The course will broaden the student's knowledge and skills of the specialty of pediatric dentistry through literature review, case review, patient care, clinical cases, and problem-based learning case studies. May be repeated to a maximum of 6 hours. Prerequisite(s): PEDD 334 and consent of the instructor. Enrollment in the Doctor of Dental Surgery Program.

337 Orientation to Hospital Dentistry
1 hours. An introductory course covering hospital organization, protocols and procedures. Charting, diagnostic testing and physical assessment are included. Prerequisite(s): Enrollment in the Doctor of Dental Surgery program.

338 Pediatric Dentistry Clinic I
1 hours. Clinical experience in comprehensive dental care for children including preventive and restorative dentistry, preventive and interceptive orthodontics, and treatment of oral dental emergencies. Prerequisite(s): PEDD 332 and PEDD 333.

347 Special Patient Care Clinic
1 hours. Develops skill in the assessment, evaluation and dental management of the medically and neurologically compromised patient, through directed patient care activity, case presentations and reporting. Prerequisite(s): Senior standing in the Doctor of Dental Surgery program and concurrent registration in PEDD 342.

348 Pediatric Dentistry Clinic II
1 hours. Continues PEDD 338. Advanced clinical experience in the comprehensive dental care for children, including preventive and restorative dentistry, preventive and interceptive orthodontics, and treatment of dental emergencies. Prerequisite(s): PEDD 332 and PEDD 333.

349 Hospital Rotation
2 hours. Provides a direct opportunity for participation in the care, assessment, diagnosis and treatment of dental patients in various hospital settings. Prerequisite(s): PEDD 337.

410 Principles and Methods in Dental Research I
2 hours. Introduces students to several of the more commonly used statistical procedures for testing hypotheses; provides students with a beginners set of tools for using statistics. Prerequisite(s): Enrollment in post-graduate or graduate program in pediatric dentistry.

411 Principles and Methods in Dental Research II
2 hours. Designed to provide the student with an understanding of the scientific method. Prerequisite(s): PEDD 410.

501 Dental Pediatrics I
2 hours. The pathophysiology and biologic basis of the neurologically mentally and medically compromised developing child and the implications to dental management and research.

502 Dental Pediatrics II
2 hours. The pathophysiology and biologic basis of the neurologically mentally and medically compromised developing child and the implications to dental management and research. Prerequisite(s): PEDD 501.

595 Pediatric Dentistry Seminar
2 hours. Presentation and discussion of current literature and research in pediatric dentistry, medical and dental aspects of pulpal therapy, traumatology, fluorides and cariology. Provides behavior guidance and application of material from other areas. Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory grading only.

600 Advanced Pediatric Dentistry Technique
3 hours. To reinforce the fundamentals of restorative dentistry, and orthodontic techniques for the child patient and provide in-depth understanding of the scientific basis for the procedures. Prerequisite(s): Enrollment in a postgraduate program in dentistry.

615 Practice Administration in Pediatric Dentistry
2 hours. Practice adminstration. Prepares the student to analyze practice systems and to design and develop a private or public patient-care delivery system. Prerequisite(s): Enrollment in a postgraduate program in dentistry.

616 Pediatric Oral Pathology
2 hours. Review and discuss lesions of oral cavity and jaws involving pediatric patients. Differential diagnosis and management of dental patients are emphasized. Same as OMDS 616. Prerequisite(s): Enrollment in a postgraduate program in dentistry.

620 Pediatric Dentistry Clinic/Case Conference
2 TO 15 hours. Comprehensive dental care of the child with behavior problems and complex dental care needs including the management of the neurologically, mentally and medically compromised individuals. Prerequisite(s): Enrollment in a postgraduate program in dentistry.

621 Hospital Dentistry
2 hours. Trains the student in hospital and procedures, pediatric medicine, Anesthesia and the care of the child in the hospital setting. Prerequisite(s): Enrollment in a postgraduate program in dentistry.

673 Pediatric Physical Diagnosis
1 hours. Designed to provide didactic and clinical experience in the assessment of the physical status of healthy and medically compromised patients. Prerequisite(s): Enrollment in a postgraduate program in dentistry.

698 Research in Pediatric Dentistry
0 TO 16 hours. Students register for this course when working on their research requirements for the Certificate Program in Pediatric Dentistry. Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory grading only. May be repeated. Prerequisite(s): Enrollment in the Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry program and approval of the department.
