1 hours. Comprehensive radiographic diagnosis of odontogenic and nonodontogenic cysts and tumors, fibro-osseous lesions, osseous lesions, radiographic manifestations of systemic diseases. Prerequisite(s): OMDS 315.

334 Clinical Oral Pathology and Oral Medicine
1 hours. Reviews pertinent aspects of clinical oral pathology, oral medicine, and related medical topics of special significance to the dental practitioner. Prerequisite(s): Junior standing in the Doctor of Dental Surgery program.

336 Introduction to Geriatric Dentistry
1 hours. A discussion and clinical presentation of geriatric health and dental care and the unique implementation for the geriatric patient. Same as DBSC 336. Prerequisite(s): Enrollment in the Doctor of Dental Surgery program.

345 TMJ Disorders
1 hours. The anatomical, physiological, and psychological basis for tempormandibular (TM) disorders is presented. Differential diagnosis and treatment of TM disorders is discussed.

347 Radiology Clinic III
1 hours. Production and interpretation of intraoral and extraoral radiographs, stressing panoramic technique. Prerequisite(s): OMDS 327.

424 Oral Pathology
4 hours. Diseases of teeth, periodontium, facial bones, muscles, nerves and mucous membranes of the oral region, and salivary glands. Introduction to clinical differential diagnosis. Prerequisite(s): ANAT 312 and BCHE 411 and HSTL 451 and PHYB 321 and PATH 421.

503 Graduate Oral Pathology
2 hours. Oral pathology for postgraduate students will cover the clinical and microscopic features of pathologic changes linked to oral-dental and systemic diseases. Prerequisite(s): OMDS 424 or the equivalent. Recommended background: Prior academic coursework including biology, histology and other related sciences.

519 Electron Microscopy Seminar
1 hours. A student speaker makes a seminar type presentation about a topic and follows this with a discussion involving electron microscopy. Prerequisite(s): Consent of the instructor.

527 Oral Biology Seminar
1 hours. Invited speakers present the progress of current research work in their field of interest related to oral tissues. Same as HSTL 514. Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory grading only. Prerequisite(s): Consent of the instructor.

529 Electron Microscopy in Dentistry

1 hours. Clinical diagnosis and currently acceptable treatment of primary and secondary diseases of the oral cavity and para-oral structures. Prerequisite(s): Consent of the instructor.

612 Diagnostic Oral Pathology Seminar
1 hours. Seminar and discussion based on clinical and histopathological slides of selected cases. Differential diagnosis, prognosis and accepted treatment. Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory grading only. Prerequisite(s): OMDS 424 or the equivalent.

613 Physical Diagnosis
1 hours. Instruction and practice in taking history and techniques for examination primarily of head and neck, but other systems also. Techniques include visual examination, palpation, auscultation. Prerequisite(s): Consent of the instructor.

614 Clinical Laboratory Procedures for Dentists
1 hours. Theory and practice of selected laboratory procedures applicable to dentistry. Prerequisite(s): OMDS 610 and OMDS 611; or consent of the instructor.

615 Seminar on Anesthesia and Pain Control in Dentistry
1 hours. Anesthesia and pain control in dentistry, use of behavioral and pharmacological interventions in anxiety and pain control including physiological principles of anesthesia. Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory grading only. Prerequisite(s): Enrollment in a postgraduate program in dentistry and consent of the instructor.

616 Pediatric Oral Pathology
2 hours. Review and discuss lesions of oral cavity and jaws involving pediatric patients. Differential diagnosis and management of dental patients are emphasized. Same as PEDD 616. Prerequisite(s): Enrollment in a postgraduate program in dentistry.

617 Radiology for the Dental Specialist
1 hours. Characteristics of disease are presented in terms of selecting the proper imaging modality and establishing a differential diagnosis. Advanced diagnostic imaging systems are evaluated for diagnostic yield. Specific references to slides and class notes will be available at http://intranet/depts/radio/index.htm. Prerequisite(s): Professional standing limited to students in Advanced Certificate Programs.

620 Oral Diagnosis Clinic
1 TO 6 hours. Clinical experience in admitting, taking history and examining, diagnosing, and planning a course of dental treatment. Prerequisite(s): OMDS 614 and consent of the instructor.

623 Temporomandibular Disorders
1 hours. The anotomical, physiological, and psychological basis for temporomandibular (TM) disorders is presented. Differential diagnosis and treatment of TM disorders. Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory grading only. Prerequisite(s): Enrollment in a dental postgraduate certificate program in dentistry.

624 Clinical Radiology
1 TO 6 hours. Clinical experience in taking all types of radiographic films. Interpretation of films. Prerequisite(s): OMDS 622 and consent of the instructor.

625 Research in Oral Radiology
1 TO 12 hours. Research project in clinical oral radiology. Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory grading only. Prerequisite(s): OMDS 622 and consent of the instructor.

660 Oral Pathology Practicum
1 TO 10 hours. Surgical pathology, clinical pathology, autopsy, dermatology, otolaryngology, oral diagnosis, oral surgery and oncology clinics are attended. Diagnosis and treatment of oral lesions are discussed. Prerequisite(s): OMDS 424 or the equivalent.

698 Oral Diagnosis Research
1 TO 12 hours. Research project in clinical aspects of oral diagnosis or oral medicine. Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory grading only. Prerequisite(s): OMDS 620 and consent of the instructor.
