321 Preclinical Endodontics
3 hours. Biologic and mechanical principles of endodontics, particularly related to root canal therapy practiced in the laboratory on extracted teeth. Prerequisite(s): ORLA 312.

331 Clinical Endodontic Lectures
1 hours. Lectures on the biologic and technical principles underlying sound endodontic therapy. Principles, procedures, methods and results of endodontic therapy are considered from the standpoint of clinical practice. Correlation of biologic knowledge with clinical practice. Prerequisite(s): ENDO 321.

352 Endodontics Clinic I
2 hours. Integrates knowledge and techniques previously learned into the clinical practice of endodontics. Students provide endodontic treatment on teeth which have been assigned a level of minimal difficulty. (AAE Endodontic Assessment Guide). Extensive computer use required. Prerequisite(s): ENDO 331.

353 Endodontics Clinic II
3 hours. A continuation of ENDO 352. Students integrate knowledge and techniques previously learned into the clinical practice of endodontics. Students continue providing endodontic treatment on teeth which have been assigned a level of minimal difficulty. Extensive computer use required. Prerequisite(s): ENDO 352.

363 Endodontics Clinic IV
1 hours. Continuation of Endo 353. Students experience treatment of a variety of cases and prepare to perform simple endodontic procedures at off-site clinic locations with minimal supervision. Extensive computer use required. Prerequisite(s): ENDO 353.

600 Endodontic Techniques
3 hours. A seminar and technique course dealing with endodontic clinical and research methods. Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory grading only. Prerequisite(s): Enrollment in a postgraduate program in dentistry.

610 Classic Endodontic Literature Review
2 hours. A seminar covering a wide range of subjects related to the clinical practice of endodontics. Participants are assigned outside reading references that provide the basis for directed seminar discussion.

611 Clinical Application of Endodontic Literature
2 hours. Various topics within the field of endodontics and related subjects such as periodontics, pediatric dentistry, and lecture techniques are presented with reference to classic literature. Prerequisite(s): ENDO 610.

612 Orofacial Pain
2 hours. A seminar course dealing with topics on the subject of pain.

613 Pharmacology for the Dental Specialist
2 hours. A seminar dealing with the need, use and prescription of drugs in dental practice with specific emphasis in endodontics. Drug interactions, and modes of action of commonly prescribed and locally used therapeutic agents are stressed. Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory grading only.

614 Pulpal Biology
2 hours. Pulp biology. Analysis of formative elements of dental pulp. Ground substance, fibers, cells, vascular and neural elements. Biology, ultrastructure and physiology. Response to disease. Prerequisite(s): Enrollment in a postgraduate program in dentistry.

615 Current Endodontics Literature Review
3 hours. Yearly update of most recent articles from endodontic publications. Bridges the gap between classic literature and most current concepts of scope, philosophy and practice. Prerequisite(s): ENDO 610.

617 American Board Review
1 hours. Topics covered by the American Board of Endodontics written and oral exam are reviewed. Prerequisite(s): Enrollment in a postgraduate program in dentistry.

618 Teaching, Learning and Critical Thinking
1 hours. An introduction to principles of teaching, learning, and critical analysis of the literature in dentistry and education. Prepares residents for their role as teachers.

619 Endodontic Surgery
2 hours. All aspects of endodontic surgery are discussed and laboratory exercises are carried out. Academicians from related specialities will participate in some sessions. Prerequisite(s): ENDO 610.

620 Endodontics Clinic
2 TO 8 hours. The clinical aspects of diagnosis case selection, and treatment both surgical and non-surgical are covered under instructor supervision. Prerequisite(s): ENDO 600.

630 Clinical Conference in Endodontics
1 hours. Clinical treatment regimen for varied types of endodontic patient cases are presented and discussed. In addition current endodontic research literature is presented and a critique formed. Prerequisite(s): Enrollment in a postgraduate program in dentistry.

698 Endodontic Research
1 TO 4 hours. Each student must plan, complete, write and defend an original thesis that satisfies departmental requirements. Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory grading only. Prerequisite(s): Enrollment in a postgraduate program in dentistry.
